Heidi is a sensitive, warm and highly empathic psychologist who provides a safe and non-judgmental space for her clients to further understand, process and make sense of their own lived experiences. Heidi works to build a collaborative relationship with her clients and to empower them to make choices that support the life that they want
for themselves.
Heidi considers the individuality of each client and draws on a range of therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Arts Therapies and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to suit the needs of each client.
Heidi has a PhD in Developmental Psychology and therefore brings knowledge and insight into the vastness of our human experience from this perspective. Heidi’s work is also informed by attachment theory and neurobiology. Heidi has a Masters degree in Creative Arts Therapies so she also integrates creative expression and process into her psychotherapeutic approaches.
Heidi is a Registered Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and a current member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI).
Heidi’s therapy dog is named Loki and the two have completed a certified course with Therapy Dogs NSW. Heidi and Loki have met the standards to be certified as an AAT team in delivering animal-assisted interventions, working safely with clients, and showing particular attention to animal welfare.

Loki is a standard size Australian Cobberdog who is 4 years old. The breed’s name refers to its mission as a therapy dog; Cobberdog means ‘dog-friend’. Cobberdogs are also known for their ability to attune to others’ emotions. Loki has a blonde, wavy, non-shedding and hypoallergenic coat. Loki has a very gentle and calm temperament, and loves to meet new people.
Play and creativity is a child’s natural language for self-expression. Heidi therefore incorporates play and creative modalities when working with children. She provides individual counselling and therapy sessions for children aged between 4 – 12 years, for a range of issues such as;
Heidi’s work and research has focused on the importance of the parent-child relationship and how nurturing this key relationship can provide the best outcomes. Heidi therefore strongly encourages parent sessions as part of supporting her child clients.
